For those skeptics among you, these ARE tomatoes, albeit very wrinkly ones that my partner and I encountered one day while shopping at one of those higher-end grocery stores that had a lot of different types of vegetables I don't think I've ever seen anywhere else. I'm relying on my foodie friends to enlighten me more on their specific name and origin.

Took a couple of days off just catching up on other things and working on updating my website. I've put an application in to the Toronto Public Library to display my work next year and I'm just wanting to highlight my best pieces on my website. So take a gander because a lot of the work will be coming down soon, possibly never to be seen again...online anyway :)
I'm not entirely happy with today's offering, but such are the consequences when you take a few days off. Like any other regimine, you have to try your best to keep at it regularly or suffer the consequences. But I'll hopefully be back up in the saddle and ridding at regular pace soon.

Sometimes when I get frustrated by a painting that is not going my way it's therapeutic to whip out the big brush and just reduce the painting to broad strokes, which is what more art teachers advocate anyway. Plus it sometimes makes the painting much better.

In lieu of my regular updates today I'm going to share with you my lame attempt at watercolour painting, which I've tried once or twice before but not frequently enough to possibly know what I'm doing. I'm taking what looks like a very thorough course in watercolour painting and I'm hoping it will whip me into shape in this area because it looks like it could be a lot if fun. Right now it's mostly frustrating.

I have to apologize once again for the lull in my blog these last couple of days. I'm learning quite quickly how difficult it is to post a painting everyday, even though I have been working on my painting everyday; so this may soon become a bi-weekly post as opposed to daily depending on time restraints but for now the most important thing is that the work is getting done.( Read more... )

Sorry about the lack of updates these last couple of days. I'm back to school for the winter semester and it may impact my ability to get a painting done daily every now and then but rest assured there will be updates every week at the very least. I'm really enjoying the process and I hope you are enjoying the output :) thank you all for all your kind comments and support.
